- Did partial rebuild in the street 3 days, shop takes 3 days. Don't need a Shop
Among other issues it seems PATS always annoys the owner especially with no start conditions and troubleshooting.
I've seen everything even maybe performing a ritual to the truck gods hoping to be blessed or something
2004 3.0 V6 OHV manual, sometimes it won't start or do anything. Realizing 70% of the truck not even cranking is because PATS was set off.
It's laughable because once you realize it you will kick yourself.
Get in the truck, close every door and wait a second.
Put key in ignition, do not crank let the cluster boot up and watch PATS symbol.
If it blinks normally and goes away feel free to crank once then repeat process assuming you are diagnosing something else.
If it blinks and starts blinking faster, don't do anything.
Let it blink fast until it goes away, then turn key to OFF position not accessory, leave the key in the ignition!!!!!!!!
WAIT a few seconds then repeat, PATS usually recognizes the key by now.
If you do anything else including failing PATS multiple times you will lock up the truck regardless of battery connection for hours leaving it and you stranded.
Do not fight PATS
