Anyone have a photo of a 1st gen Ranger with the front bumper taken off? I'm trying to lighten up the front end to help my front/rear weight bias. Just trying to save myself some work - I don't want to take it off and have it look dumb then have to put it back on again.

take the rubber bumper off and replace it with a painted black stripe? (rust, oleum, of course)

What about swapping for a 3 inch or 4 inch aluminum tube? 4 inch aluminum channel? I’m talking about thin stuff. Maybe start with some aluminum sheet and form something on a box in pan break?

hey, it’s got the bowtie upfront. Half the folks would only look at that and drool, and the educated folks who saw it wouldn’t care what the bumper looked like!

A pinto front bumper is aluminum. I'm not sure if it could fit but I can measure my 1977 for you.

The bumper isn't very heavy anyway. An aluminum bumper of the same thickness would be like 10 pounds.

For reference, I can hold my bumper and brush guard up with one hand while laying on the ground trying to start the bolts.

Truck has a bodylift, either way there is nothing under there that is very pretty to look at.
