If no one has one you could try www.car-part.com.I picked up a piece of junk with an inferior engine. I’m not even sure it exists, but if anyone has a bell housing for a TK trans that bolts to a 2.3 I would like to purchase it.
Just dont diss the 2.9 we'll get along fineI know the 2.3 isn’t inferior, that’s why I want a bellhousing to use that engine. The bell housing I have is currently attached to a 2.8 which is only one notch above the 3.0

Which I haveThe bellhousing is not a separate piece, you'll need the whole transmission.
Are you still looking for one? I have a spare tk4 from an 83 2.3 4x4 I used to have. I can pull the bell housing off for you. It's yours if you pay the shipping or wanna come pick it up from Missouri lol

BS.. only thing wrong with the 2.8 was the emissions crap they were saddled with. Little work and it's a great engine. 3.0L will never be close.
Only way a 2.3L is going to be better is if you put whirley bits on it and force feed it air. So, if you're going to make those claims, you better get busy swapping in those whirley bits too.
i’ve got this personal thing against distributors and pushrods. It may not be a popular opinion, may not be justified, I just don’t like them, we get to like what we like.
I’m also fond of the 2.3’s self preservation with its timing belt. I’ve owned 2.8’s and 2.9’s in B2’s, my rangers have all been 2.3’s so far. I’ve never thought gee I wish I had a 2.8 or 2.9 in my rangers.
