Except for the shuffleboard court, it sounds like we grew up in the same house.I grew up in this house. It was around 980 square feet with a basement. My dad finished the basement for more living space.
That tile actually had a shuffle board court built into it. I remeber the court being in the floor, but not people playing it. There was also a pool table with a ping-pong table top you can set on it, and a bar.
I laugh when these newer genrations talk about the size of house they need for kids. My parents raised (4) kids in a 3-bedroom / 1-bath house.
Oh ya, my dad added a bathroom down there as well.

I notice that you're sitting next to the TV. Perhaps you were the remote control when dad needed the channel changed. I was the youngest and was assigned those duties...Here's mine about 1,960 something years after Gumps. We had cooler pants then.
