TRS VAGABONDS

Hmmm ... if I build a newer ranger based thing....have to consider werewolfin' the critter.....

ctis is tempting....

That is not as expensive as I thought it would be. Way out of my budget but not bad none the less. I bet that kit makes a Ranger or Bronco a crawling monster.

yup. sub 20 k for what it allows the machine to do is not a horrible. if you are boondocking most of the time it is cheap.

Is it just me or is getting this GMRS license a big PIA. FCC website keeps acting up or something

IIRC, They sure didn’t make it easy. They made you go to 3 different sites to get everything done correctly.
If I didn’t know any better, I’d say it’s the government.

I think I've got it all done. All I know is at the end they got some of my money. So yeah sounds just like the government haha

Can confirm it's a pain in the ass, even with watching some tutorials. But, I paid them 35 bucks and they sent me a letter about it and confirmed things so I guess I did it right.

I went ahead and got my GMRS license and rarely use my radio unless I’m in the woods. Even then, CB has been more active but I attribute that to the logging industry in this area. I like the idea of the TRS vagabonds. I don't have as much time as I’d like to even go wheeling so my “overlanding” time is minimized to one trip a year.

I can see that it's submitted but I still don't know if I've done everything correctly. About how long till you know for sure haha? Do they contact you through email or regular mail?

Youll get a letter in the mail but I seem to remember finding my call sign somewhere online shortly after.

I haven't got mine till now because I've just been using my little 5 watt hand helds. But I just got the MCT 275 and want to be legal haha. But I do a lot of rides and they all use GMRS. I had a CB in all my old rigs. I've actually got one sitting but haven't installed it just because it seems no one uses them anymore.

I didn't make a call sign unless it's my name 😯

The ULS system is horribly designed and not easy to use. The last time I got my license (when I upgraded to Extra class), they emailed me a pdf. They didn't even send a hard copy.

I can’t even get logged in to recover my call sign. Of course I can’t remember it to save my life.

I've tried twice on my phone...

I'm gonna have to sit down on my laptop and figure it out.
