TRS Event TRS 2023 Fall Adventure - Land Between The Lakes

A bunch of this should probably go to the tax thread.

So, everyone getting their final details ironed out in preparation for the LBL trip? I’m actually feeling like I might not get my Ranger ready. I’m going to finish a few details and get my Gun50 listed for sale on Marketplace tomorrow morning. Then it’s time to try to finish the front bumper and headlight/turn signal/ side marker bracketry. I also have some work to finish the trophy for the scavenger hunt.
Justin and I are working through the logistics and everything of travel and meals. Ugh

I haven’t even started thinking about meals yet. Though I am considering producing a special treat to share for Friday evening

I haven't found anything about a launch permit being required. There are several free boat launches and some general information and maps. The only talk about canoes and kayaks is concerning rentals.

I cut out my crash bars and bolted down my tailgate cover thingy with some 1/4 20 nut zerts and some decorative bolts. Gonna try and get tires swapped out then plan out my meals. Still got to go through camping gear and downsize to just what I need. May have yo wait till after to change all my diff fluid and stuff. Time has crept up on me. That's what sucks when you procrastinate everything haha

Do we have a rough idea of what the weather will be like? Trying to be cost conscious with the meal planning but I also like the meals to no be too much if on the warmer weather side.

Next 7 days is all I have. I wouldn't tryst a weather forecaster this far out, anyway. Use "Cadiz, KY" for a location in your favorite weather app.

I figure I'm going to be changing all of those fluids after I get home from the trip if we do any off roading. Well before they are due but I don't want to chance there being water sucked into anything and corroding stuff from the inside out. I still need to get an ARB diff cover on order for the rear axle too so I don't have to drop the cover every time I do an fluid change.

Well I live a little over an hour east of there. This week has been the hottest week of the year. We've been in the upper 90s with heat index in triple digits all year. Ibgo in to work at 4 am and the temps have been upper 70s and lower 80s all week on my way in. I may pack my dogs sprinkler mat and set my camping chair in the middle while hanging at camp hahaha

I talked to a few friends and they said a life jacket is all that's required. No permits. They did reinforce the life jacket and said wildlife management officers are always patrolling the water and will fine you if you don't have 1 in the boat. No permits for non motorized water crafts. I'm not sure I'm gonna bring mine though. I'm not a big fan of paddling too much. Since my shoulder is wore out I stick to more moving water than flat lakes haha. I'll just have to see how much room I have after I pack the truck. Dang I need a bed or roof rack haha

I have enough loose ends I'm gonna put a list together in the morning.

Meal plan... haven't gotten that far.

My list is long... but doable.

I think I'm gonna change pizza night to Friday night. It makes the most sense from a product freshness stand point and trying to keep everything cold for another 24 hours.

Either way... I would be grateful if any of you could offer up a bit of cooler space maybe???

Friday works better for me, too. Saturday, I'll be trying to check people's scavenger hunt results. I'm bringing an extra cooler.
