I had my doubts, espicially because i dont have the dedicated tow package. I did have an OEM hitch installed and have a wireless trailer brake on order.

I ran a 30 or 40 mile loop, flatlands to hills and it never whimpered, plenty of power (3.6L/8sp) felt solid as a rock the whole time, and was getting around 15mpg.

Im happy as hell. Guess i wont be able to talk shit on unibody/IRS anymore lol

We told you so!!!

Michigan has hills?

Better be careful and not use up too much of your PTO. You’ll be replacing those coil springs and ball joints every other week on that rear end.
:p

Lol. Ill haul this a handful of times a year max.

How's the Mexican food there?
Pretty damn good honestly. I always get the same thing though lol

Is it just me or did everyone read the thread title as "I towed a Grand Cherokee"?

Well, now I know the world is ending. War in the Ukraine, Chinese spy balloon, hazmat fires burning everywhere. Tic tac UFOs being openly shot down by the US govt.

And now Rusty praising a fully independent minivan V6 powered foreign owned vehicle made in this century? Well, I'm building a bunker

The tow rating on the 3rd row cherokee is the same as the new ranger

:iamwithstupid:

How'd the brakes do? That's what limits my towing on the F150 (brakes suck).

The GCs can tow just fine. I used to have a WJ with the 4.7HO. I bought it out of state, and the day I bought it, I reserved a Uhaul trailer, drove my Jetta TDI there to buy the Jeep, put the Jetta on the trailer and towed it home with the Jeep. Totally different body Jeep I realize, but they've always been solid towing vehicles, I've had several.

Actually it stopped with no drama whatsoever. Im just getting a controller for legality reasons and just peace of mind. It felt like it stopped it better then my F250, although that mighta been in my head, i also drove like i do the semi, with high anticipation of idiots, etc.

I was mostly worried about the suspension being its IRS and the unibody structure. The suspension did great, time will tell on the unibody but everything ive read they seem to be plenty stout.

I do notive alot of noise though coming from the hitch area...i heard this is normal when unibody towing as theres no rubber mounts to isolate?

It wasnt bad...just something i noticed
