Someone probably believes that. But, at 65 mph I can drive from Sacramento to Fresno and back on a tank of gas. I can't do that at 80 mph.

I don't use WD40 for anything, it's a lousy penetrant and a poor lubricant, I sure wouldn't dump it into my fuel.

it softens up tar, grease, grunge. makes it easier to flush the crap out.
cleans taps & dies.
works into the pivots on pliers etc to displace rust.
softens my delicate hands

lubrication, eh, not really.

I agree. WD-40 is good for costing tools to keep from rusting.

It also helps removing sticky goop.

Although Goo Gone is better at removing sticky stuff. Plus I have hydraulic oil and used 30w laying around for coating tools. So, now that I think about it.......

After I wash my quad or one of my SxSs, I spray the frame down with WD40. It keeps the surface rust from forming on the scratches. It only needs to last until he next time I take it for a ride then wash it again... WD is perfect for that.
