Looking for suggestions on unused switches


I understand it....doesn’t make sense...guess the guy who designed it was able to explain away the nonsense to his boss well enough it stuck.

Say we’re back in the 70s and anything smart is completely out of the question. No chips or anything. If we want lights to be controlled with separate momentary on an off buttons, we can only use old fashioned Radio Shack components. How could you accomplish this other than the aforementioned circuit?
One feature of that circuit is that the vehicle will always start with the lights off if they run on switched power.

I would not have used momentary switches, that was my hang up. If you want momentary switches, then this is simple enough. An on/off toggle would have simplified it even more.
