Anyone know the details on the rangers provided to the Afghan National Army by the US Government which are now in Taliban hands ? Are the 4x4 or 2WD ? Automatic or manual ? Do they have air conditioning ?

Your guess is as good as mine. The ones they had in Qatar that I had access to were RWD.

I had a right hand drive Hilux till brass found out how awsome it was. I got traded into a Tata. Both manual. Never quite got used to RH manual.

You can see in a couple spots in the video that they have front drive axles, so at least some are 4wd.

I am guessing they were automatic ?

They were all diesel and manual transmissions. Outside of the U.S., most countries don't have a negative view of manual transmissions and they are generally the default transmission.

Some countries view an automatic transmission as a luxury item and tax you for it. Finland is one that comes to mind

Automatics may be less prone to operator error during SHTF situations.

Just to drive one of those, I'm sure not joining the "Insurgents" or "AlQueda" or "ISIS" or "Taliban"
or whatever other idiotic enemy names the news media & military propaganda comes up with.
My SportTrac looks simular enough, but am considering adding a rollbar mounted 50cal MG or RocketLauncher !!!
Also need camo paint; seems to be truely effective making vehicles difficult to spot running down the highway.
