I have 2001 XLT Supercab 4.0 sohc 4X4 Off Road. The body and interior are beautiful and the truck runs great with just 50K miles. the frame and underside is extremely rusted and I'm seeking advice on what to do about it.

Hi Mike!
Welcome to TRS.
There are a ton of options depending on how bad and where the rust is. Removing the bed is the best and easiest way to get at the rear of the frame and it really is not that difficult - again depends on where and how bad. Sand blasting, rust encapsulator, etc. are all viable options.
If you could post some pics, that would help the experts (not me) give you more specific advice.

Hi Rumblecloud (?)
I not have pictures of the undercarriage. But the frame is rusted to thin from the back to transmission including the crossmember. Beyond rust encapsulating. The from section and suspension components are thoroughly rusted as well. I believe I need a full frame swap-over. I heard there was a recall but I can’t find anything on it.

I’m not sure you got my response (sorry for the typos). If you did and replied, I was not able to see it. It’s pretty clear that I really need a frame. I have body and frame shop looking at it in a few weeks. Hoping it’s fixable. Otherwise I’ll part it out.
Thanks for conversing. Mike
