Yeah, I'm a novice/idiot. Bought an old high mileage beater Ford Ranger for cheap - got it cheap because head gasket needed changed. It that myself successfully, but after putting everything back together I have a mystery part left over. I THINK it might be part of the air con?? Perhaps not?? What it is and where to put it back info would be awesome guys. Help an idiot out here. haha

That green o-ring makes me think A/C system to me, too. I can't see inside the ends if it. Does it look like a Schrader valve? (Think tire stem). All I can think is maybe a pressure test port. But there should be external threads to connect the gauge.

I was thinking the same thing! Probably A/C oriented. After googling Schrader valve, It doesn't have an internet "stem" like they seem to. Just a small hole. I kinda wanted to say it might connect to the radiator / cooler somehow?

Either A/C or maybe the broken half of the oil pressure sensor ? I know that over time they become brittle and fall apart... Does the truck read oil psi?

Yeap, oil pressure looks good and just where it should be.

I thought I did. Though I'm a bit of a novice. Anyone have a schematic or diagram of all parts in the a/c system handy?

I kinda wanna say it's the A/C pressure relief valve. After googling, they look similar. Though I have no flipping glue where it would connect.

The High Pressure A/C blow off is always going to be on the high side... usually close to the A/C compressor.

Thanks Uncle Gump! Do you know of any connectors like this that are closer to the radiator? I'm trying to get a list of anything it might be. I'm just spitballing it might be a blowoff valve.

I looked at the picture... I figured someone slipped a part on your bench to mess with your mind... or you forgot it from your last project.

Haha, I'm afraid this is the only mechanical project I've done since I moved. That would be a dirty trick though. haha

I've had that done to me. Years ago, when I was a maintenance tech in a Michelin manufacturing plant, we had to take exams for advancement in pay levels. Part of the exam process involved assembling a machine. There were always extra parts in the box. Not just extra nuts and bolts of various sizes. But extra gears or pulleys or things like that, some of which were very similar to the parts you really needed. These exams were not simple. The last one I took was at least 2 days long if I recall. The blue prints were in French.
