Transmission
Automatic
Total Lift
It's up there.
Total Drop
It's down there.
Tire Size
Round.
My credo
I poop in the furnace.
Cinching up this 2000 2.5 and while putting the harness back in I found this plug that goes no where. Doesn't even reach anything. It is the exact same plug as the IAT sensor but there is a identical plug that actually reaches the IAT sensor on the intake tube. I think the wire colors are even the same (hard to tell, very old dirty wire harness)

It's down by the alternator. See attached pics. The one up top goes to the intake tube. @RonD ?????

IAT would have grey and grey/red wire

Only dark green/white wire I see on computer is for transmission TSS sensor, so not that, lol

Is it a solid dark green or is there a stripe
Is the other wire solid black or is there a stripe, or is it Brown?

Lemme go try and clean them off and decipher the color....

Ok the top one that fits where the IAT sensor is, apears to be grey with a red stripe, and solid grey.

The bottom one that connects to nothing appears to be black with a pink stripe and green with an orange stripe.

Both are very faded though so greys could be green... i hate this crap.

Have to head off

but its not a sensor connection that I can find in diagrams

Don't find either in engine bay wiring

Well... im gonna ignore it and move on unless i find something it should go to lol. It literally looks to me like a second IAT plug maybe for a different style intake? Its the same connection and on the same harness so ?????

its not some harness for test equipment is it? (like the obd1 used to have) or a accessory that truck doesnt have (like a/c clutch for example)

Dunno, it has AC, thats on the other side.

Send me the VIN, I’ll look up the wiring through fords website.

And can one of you geniouses check my other thread to verify i did this timing right. For some reason the exhaust valve is open even though all 3 gears are on their mark. I thought the cam should have both valves closed.

Uhhh see if this is a 3.0 truck cause ummm the belt routing guide on the grill is for a 3.0 not a 2.5...

Alot of stuff on this truck seems right but there's alot of weird hack job crap. Someone ripped the RABS out (totally understand that) but it also looks like it may have been a manual at some point. Seats are wrong, AC looks wrong... lots of questionable crap

Motor and trans seem well done if they were swapped though.

heres my ‘94, I had to mark everything when I took it apart. crank keyway is at 12, it appears that cam mark is between 5 & 6. not sure if this helps you out or not. the plastic peice on my cover for the cam gear was broke off when I got this truck, so I marked everything for reassembly reference.

Unfortunately I didn't start taking it apart so nothing was marked lol. The covers are intact though so im going by what the fine engineers at ford gave me for marks.

Also how come yours isn't neon green?!?!

My BIL who is somewhat of a Pinto expert said after setting the marks and releasing the tensioner I need to turn the engine over two complete turns and then check the marks. We will see what that does...

I really should just start a build thread on this thing. "The free headache"
