97 ranger 2.3 losing coolant fast, even while just setting not running. No oil in water, no water in oil, no bubbles in radiator while running and no moisture or steam from exhaust. Can literally fill radiator and watch level drop while setting. No drips anywhere and not wet around water pump or t stat housing. Can't see any signs of leak anywhere. Any ideas from anyone? I am stumped!

No antifreeze smell in the cab? What about wetness around the heater core housing?

You know this would be impossible right? :)

If if leaks out of cooling system, engine off, then it can only go down to the ground, freeze plug rusted out maybe

Or as said, into the passenger side floor in cab, heater core rusted out

Personally I blame Obama. Or Antifreeze elves...

I think it's going in Dirtman's pickle bucket.

That's what I know, impossible! I have checked freeze plugs and everywhere water should be,( hoses and such) but I can't find anything. Losing water setting, it has to be leaking to the outside somewhere! I did figure out that someone put stop leak in it. To stop what from leaking remains to be discovered! I found some of the little pellets in the overflow bottle because it plugged the overflow hose to the radiator!

i have the same prob on my 94 4.0have replaced the heater core 2 times. only smell it when the heat is on. losing antifreeze also see no leaks any where .no water in oil

I'd recommend putting your name and address on all coolant you add from now on. Hopefully a kind samaritan finds it and returns it to you.

Be suspicious of other notorious leakers like the junk Plastic HeaterControlValve & junk Plastic HeaterHoseTeeAssembly;
those may be easily replaced with Metal versions.

My 2 cents; Beg, borrow, or steal a pressure tester with the correct adapter , pump up to pressure listed on cap, and listen for hiss and or look for stream of antifreeze.
