What's with Motorcraft Mercon V ???

What's with Motorcraft Mercon V? The local stores (NAPA, Advanced, O'Reilley's, Walmart) have it only in quarts at about 8 bucks each. I need two 5 qt jugs to change out my Ranger but Amazon is the only place I see it and that's even more expensive. The parts stores say they can't get it in 5 qt jugs. ebay is the best price at $5.57 a quart but I have to buy it in 6 quart cases.

12 quart case is 70 bucks on amazon which is under 6 bucks a quart. Use the extra 2 quarts to change your power steering fluid...

We don't keep 5qts of nothing. We have singles and we have bulk tanks, and that is it.

I was thinking that was probably the case, but transmission fluid has always been expensive. Although you don't change the transmission fluid nearly as often as you do your engine oil, so I guess on the bright side you only do a transmission fluid drain and fill once every 3-5 years I guess. Although lately with the lack of driving I do, I only change oil once or twice a year LOL.

I wasn’t aware it came in 5 qt jugs. I always got the singles.

I find them easier to work with under the vehicle anyway.

Sure. Just run 'em through the blender for 2 1/2 minutes first.

That may be but it was still painful to pay $8/qt when my wife's car was leaking PS fluid. Freaking crap reeks too.
