where is the computer this truck?

HI, my folks have a 4x4 ranger, 1994 with an a/t and a 4.0L v6. Where can I find the computer. Mechanic friend says it may be bad, already replaced MAF and EGR, intermittent CEL continues.

I'm posting for my parents who just called while trying to find it. Any info would be great. I'm sure I'll get more info from them when I get there as to symptoms they are experiencing and fixes already attempted. I'm heading to their place tomorrow to take a look at the truck.

it is behind the pass, side kick panel just in front of the door.

Not on a '93-94.

The computer is mounted through the firewall on the DRIVERS side
and is most accessable by unfastening the inner fender.

thanks guys,

I just got by my parents place and I saw all the harnesses terminating in the comp, thanks for the hint on the inner fender, I was about to pull the cruise control actuator, but pulling the fender seems better.

Ummmm. You don't have to pull the plastic, inner fender. It does make it a little easier but is not necessary. Drill one small hole in he plastic to get an 8mm socket through for the bottom bolt and it comes right out.
