1998 xlt 4x4 manual. When key is on position get all idiot lights everything is good, as soon as you turn to start it blows #5 ignition/starter 50A fuse. Starter will not engage. In trouble-shooting I have changed 50A fuse, Starter relay, Clutch pedal switch(it was bad anyway), ignition switch under dash, and of course starter/solenoid. It will push start fine(manual Trans) and if I run a wire from positive on battery to solenoid w/ key in on position turns-over and starts???? Where do I go from here?

The 50 amp fuse powers the ignition switch, not just for START

Pull out fuse 24 and fuse 28 in cab fuse box, both 7.5amp, these both get 12v from ignition switch in START position

Fuse 24 actives starter relay
Fuse 28, mutes radio and tells GEM engine is being cranked

Then see if 50 amp fuse still blows when key is turned to START, it won't start but thats not the point of the test

If fuse doesn't blow then replace fuse 24, and try it, engine should start if fuse doesn't blow then problem will be in dash wiring from fuse 28 to radio or GEM

If radio is not Stock then someone may have left the mute wire disconnected and its now shorted to ground

Pulled the starter and checked it?
Pulled the starter and checked it?
