1983 2.2 diesel ranger eddie bauer

Hi all i'm new here and was wondering if anyone has build numbers on these trucks that would be awesome. i've been looking for a while now and cant find anything.

Diesels are getting somewhat hard to come by (at least that I've seen), and I don't believe there was an Eddie Bauer edition for the Rangers. Explorers and Bronco IIs had the Eddie Bauer edition and people swap the seats into a Ranger

There was no eddie bauer ranger.

The 2.2 is all its 59hp glory was not a popular engine choice. They pop up for sale every now and again but generally people want your left nut and right arm for them.

I think a 4bt would probably be a better investment, more parts available and plenty of replacement engines out there. Regardless of brand loyalty Cummins makes good engines.

Have wanted to find one of those Perkins or the Mitsubishi for fuel research purposes. Always wanted to see how those little guys would run on blended/bunker fuel, or any of the biofuel choices.

i picked it up in iowa for $800 and i like the little thing it dose like 32mpg on the last fill i put a little turbo on it and am running 5-8psi keeping it safe and reliable.

Paint job is custom so anything goes for anything else. The dash trim is interchangable with a Bronco II, I had one in mine for awhile.

What does it say under the "Ranger" fender badge?

Its xlt on the fender i wasnt sure with the differing badges.

Heres some under hood picks not the cleanest its going to get a inter cooler at some point so i wasn't too worried about the looks on the over engine tube.

Really hard to say, there's an XLT badge on the ashtray too... my vote is that some previous owner did it, but who knows. The black dash trim is intriguing as well.

I also have never seen a diesel Ranger in person before... very high up on my want list.

sorry i dont remember what the specks are on the turbo its a cheepie ebay turbo that ive had on a snowmobile and sport bike over the last few years on the housing it seas gt28 but i know its not a garret because i paid like $120 for it.

and yea is there any way to check with the vin to know for sure if someone somehow got the eddie b from factory or if its just an xlt that someone put a dash and badges in?
