Hearing some interesting rumors around the dealerships about the new Bronco

We don't even know if Ford can build a Bronco that can compete with the Jeep, and not just be another vehicle lost in a sea of SUV's.

Hey, if Ford puts out a vehicle with the options I want, that can get through a one foot or deeper snow drift, I'll buy it over a Jeep any day. I don't need a whole lot for options, either. Just a/c, cruise, tilt, ABS, side curtain air bags, keyless entry, remote start, and Apple Car Play (off the top of my head).

don't forget the heat/cooled leather seats, locking rear diff, 20 inch black wheels, minimum of 10 cup holders, power plugs for mobile devices, satellite radio, and the premium audio ;missingteeth;

Whatever they do it'll be overpriced and won't be anything like a Bronco should be. Rest assured Ford has already screwed up the new Ranger so they'll damn sure make a point to further screw up by destroying the Bronco name. Ford is doing everything they possibly can to run themselves out of business by the looks of it...the only hope we have now is the new 7.3L Gas V8's in the HD trucks.

FRS was pretty cookie cutter. Maybe an air filter or something. Even the Rangers meager option list blew it away.
FRS was a Subaru clone BRZ, the exception because both cars were identical and only one version by each brand was available. It wasn't even a car when i was shopping.

It was kind of a mutt thing, Subaru did the engine and maybe trans. Toyota did everything else.

Being the "sports car" one would think it would have been the more customizable car.

HEY... I loved the cooled leather seats in my last F150!

I would be surprised if Ford created a whole new badge line. At least for a while, manufacturers were cutting badge lines like Mercury, Pontiac, and Plymouth. It would be a drastic step if they did add a new badge.

I can’t disagree with the above comments about using the Ranger for competing with the existing truck lines and the Bronco with Jeep. Blur the lines too much between badge lines and it will hurt sales more than help. GM tried that and failed. Toyota kinda did with the Scion brand as well.

I don't know enough about the new Bronco or Ranger to make comparisons to other vehicles.

I built a few Jeeps for trails. Nothing crazy, but you couldn't go "all out" with the XJs without MAJOR work.

Wound up with a Ranger because they could keep up with Jeep in my high-school days. I stuck with mine because of how customizable they are. Sure, it's a lot of work, but the builds around here convinced me to keep it and to pursue a goal.

From what I've seen of the new Ranger, the days of a highly customizable truck are gone. I'm not expecting Bronco to be any different.

The idea of a Bronco brand is cool. But I'm guessing it's going to be like Hummer, new FJ, new Tacoma, etc. Just another line of vehicles made for the masses and designed by accountants.

CJ Jeep , old 'Rover Discovery and Defender, old FJ, Hummer H1, T series Tacoma, and Old Ranger are gone. They were all vehicles built by humans, at least in the beginning. They could be customized because a pair of human hands had to build it in the first place.
You can see the change-over in all of the vehicles that were built during the automation revolution in Detroit. As the robots took over, the designs changed to accommodate the robot.

Modern sh*t is so damn difficult to work on, modify, and customize because it's designed to be built by robots.

Old sh*t was easy to work on, modify, and customize because it was designed to be built by humans.

The solution is clear to me. If I want to be able to work on the new stuff like I can with the old stuff, chop off my arms and give me robot parts. ????

Toyota has also farmed out the new Supra, basically the same deal with BMW, the Supra is basically a Z4. 85, seems like we have a little conversation going on inside the BIG conversation, lol

Sorry...couldn't figure out how to copy/paste with narrative...
You can call me cross eyed, but that rendering of the new Bronco, aside from the grill, looks exactly like a Chevy/GMC S-10 Blazer from the early 90's.

1994 Blazer Wonder if Chevy copied it from
the future pics of the 2020 Bronco?

The new bronco is ranger based, not F-150 based. Rendering was fan fiction.

Again, even if it is a rendering, the new Bronco looks verrry similar to the old IH Scout. Take the Ford badging off and slap a IH Scout badge on it and no one would know the difference...except IH Scout was discontinued 40 years ago.
Verrrrrrry interesting!!!
