7-Eleven delivers.

I can have them bring me a candy bar.

Is technology making our lives better, or just making people lazy? I don't even have my pizza delivered. I go pick it up just to get out of the house.

TBH we have uber eats and stuff that existed before that.
When I was in CFI school and my truck broke I got an uber eats.
7/11 makes sense, I can chill at home and get some snacks and a big gulp delivered. I don't have to get in my truck, wait to turn out of my neighborhood for 30 years, dont have to wait at the light for 30 years just to get there.

7-11 delivering seems a bit much, but I can be there and back in about the same amount of time it would take to place an order. There's only 1 house between me and 7-11.
As far as pizza, there's a good place in the strip mall with 7-11 and 1/4 mile down the road the other way is the place that was voted "Best pizza in NJ for 2018". Either one is a 45+ minute wait for delivery. Its not worth the wait when I can make it from my door to their door in 1-2 minutes.

I stopped going to the local mcdonalds because they kept wanting em to use those damn kiosk things to order in which I refuse. Technology is great don't get me wrong but, I am a person that would rather do it myself when possible other than depending on someone else. I feel technology is making us more lazy.

Technology is great, but where is the line? The Kiosks @ McDonalds are so you cant get mad at the cashier for ringing it up wrong, but if they were good @ there job, they wouldn't need the kiosks. Having food delivered to your door is convenient AF, and been around for decades, but 7/11 delivering, No thanks. I have to download another app to my already congested phone, give them access to my debit card, and probably have to have a minimum purchase, or a heavy fee for delivery. We have to draw the line somewhere, but where? what works out for some, confuses and frustrates others. what seems like a good idea to some, seems ridiculous to others

I think it is almost cruel they put their employees up to trying to get you to use the kiosk. Kind of helping the customer learn how to not need them. They did quit being so pushy about it after awhile.

I will say since I started using them they haven't forgot to leave the pickle off yet... :icon_twisted:

Casey's delivers pizza, never tried anything else but I live just outside of their delivery range. I don't even know where the nearest 7/11 is.

There are two sides to this story... One side says this is making everyone lazy and the other side is a grown man or woman who is in a wheel chair and just straight up doesn't have the ease of getting in a car and going to the 7-11. What we take for granted (going to the store to get snacks) is someone else's dream. Just because they offer the delivery doesn't mean you have to do it. Also those kiosks at McDonalds…. I sat their and made my order while I saw two or three other people get their full orders in before I was done getting a few burgers and nuggets. So yes I was able to make my order exactly how I wanted it but it took about 4 minutes to complete it at the kiosk lol.

I've yet to go to a McDonalds that I think uses the kiosk correctly. What's the point in giving people the big numbers that stand up on your table so they can find you and bring you your order, when they just stand behind the counter shouting out your order number?

You can also do cash payments to RockAuto at 7-11.

I was at a business conference mid last year... related to the quick serve industry. The digital space and drive thru was the main topic. If you don't have a digital space as a business owner... you're way behind times and missing out on sales. Same with a drive thru... if you don't have one... again you're missing out. 7 11 is just doing what everyone is doing... making there mark in this space... everyone is doing it.

Whether is be laziness or making life simpler... expect more of it.

I fear soon we will be like this

Kinda reminds me of a scene from Wall-E. All the people are fat and sit in chairs and their bones don't even connect, from sitting in chairs and eating and doing everything from their chairs.

Or the insurance commercial where the kid has on VR goggles and tells the toaster to turn the tv on and a drone bring him a package. the dad thinks his kid is weird, and FLO says "I think that's how all kids are" ( paraphrasing - not actual quotes from the ad )

Thanks Craig0320
