Can you fix it on the side of the road? $10 in gas to a friend for a ride to get tools sounds better than a tow bill

Towing on your insurance for a few bucks a month would save a tow bill LOL. Even with just having liability on my 88 Bronco 2 I have towing which is like $3 a month. Nice insurance for those oh crap moments LOL.

Oh no, i have towing lol. But still...

Always a sad image...

Damn they must think that ranger is really heavy to need that large of a wrecker LOL.

Been there, about a year ago, heading up the mountain to see my mother and my brake pedal hits the floor.... Had to tow it cause I wasn't going to limp across 2 towns with my kids in back.if it was just me, I'd have done it though

Back when i was dating my wife i lost the brakes on my expedition, she was astonishined that to me, it was no big deal. Ive lost so many brakes over the years it dont even bother me anymore. Once you get past the initial "oh shit" its no big thing.

But i also wasnt planning on coming down any large grades and live in flat southern mi.

At least Rusty 2.0 doesn't have the pressed together crap.

I either get to waste my weekend doing my wife's Edge front wheel bearing or pay $160+tax and have it done.

Have to press the bearing out of the knuckle, hub out of the bearing and then the hub into the new bearing and the new bearing into the knuckle.

They are pricey but at least the bolt on ones didn't require removing the knuckle and a press...

Same thing happened to me last October when I was taking mom and dad's Escort ZX2 to get a couple small things for my Ranger and when I was about 1/2 mile from their home, I pushed on the brake pedal and it went all the way to the floor. Turned around and made it back to the house and had to use my dad's S10.

Piss on that.

This is the first of the old style bearings ive ever lost. Hell rusty #1 has the originals still in it, i think i mighta packed them once.

The bolt on ones are nice, but i dont mind getting greasy to change a 10 dollar set of bearings over paying 250+ to stay clean.
