Bumper Face Bar, impact strip holes?

Had a little fender bender and I need to replace parking/turn signal assembly and the bumper face bar. It's cheaper for me to fix it myself then to pay insy deductible. I see lots of bumper face bars on eBay, etc. but they say without impact strip holes. Do I need to find one with impact strip holes? What would it take to make the holes if I do need them?

I guess that would depend on whether you want to add the impact strip or not. I think they are a good idea if you tend to nudge fenders quite often like in parking lots or street parking where there is very little room to maneuver.

but, then again...if you have a lift or larger tires those don't typically match with car bumpers so they really won't matter.

The holes can be cut if you have a good plasma cutter or other such tool but they are usually stamped at the factory because there can be several dozen of them. I tried cutting down a bumper from a 96 to put on my 88 (worked OK) but it was no picknic and took quite a bit of farting around to get it the way I wanted it.

Your choice!

If I could find one with the impact strip holes already cut I would buy one as long as it's reasonably priced like the ones without. I guess if I can't find one I will just remove impact strip.

I really appreciate your response, thank you!!

Glad to offer what I can.

Are you looking in junkyards or online? I like junkyards because you can see right away if they have the strip in plain sight. I've bought parts that I thought would be exactly as the ones I had and they turned out to have "issues" that made them more work to install.

Like a rear passenger side wheel well panel that for some reason came with an extra lip at the top that was not on the exact same panel on the other side of the same vehicle. That was even the same part manufacturer and there was absolutely no distinguishing numbers or information.

Anyway...the ones I found online (images) had the strip holes in some but not all so I can see what you're talking about.

Good luck!
