The interior of my little ranger is pretty dried out and faded. Not sure why? Although I really like the dark red interior. I was looking to paint the dash back to it original state. Is there a close to color available? And would a light sanding be a good starting point?

Excellent link on LMC...but just looking at the prices of the dash and door panels makes me cringe...but, then again...I'm not about to make my first million dollars...

I swapped out the first gen trim for second gen door trim...much nicer and easier to keep from shredding...and once I figure out how to make the first gen hardware work with a second gen door I will be much happier...

If a total restore is on the books then I'd go with the door panels from LMC too...mine sort of fell apart and I never did try to fix them...but the second gen (and maybe later models) have a much better door vent...and they fit first gen doors...and don't fall apart nearly as much...

If you are getting tired of the hard slamming doors, the first place to look (after you close the window) is the little vent by the back of the door...change it out while you have everything apart and you will be quite happy with the difference...

Admittedly, I only had a few cracks in my gen 1 dash...repaired them, sanded, primed, and painted black. I am pleased with the results and hoping it holds up, but if not I'm going with the dash cap from LMC.

Haven't bought them yet, but definitely going with the door panels. They're replicas, apparently made from durable plastic, so I'm trusting they'll hold out well.

Will have to explore the vent fix, because yes...so tired of slamming the doors shut!
