I'm in the market for an mid 90's to 05 2wd Ranger. I'm wondering if these trucks, or newer ones, were offered with adjustable lumbar from Ford ?

Don't know for sure, but don't think so...if I'm wrong someone will chime in. But you can swap in a variety of other seats...I had a pair of Mustang GT buckets in my 93 Ranger and they have power lumbar (not currently connected) and adjustable side bolsters. Then I pulled the driver's bucket and installed a driver's seat out of a 99 Windstar van...sits higher, better support for big old boys, and has a fold down arm rest, too. There's a list of direct swap seats in the technical library somewhere.

My 88 came with power seats and have adjustable lumbar...so they've been around for a while...I don't like them as much as the high back seats but haven't been to a junkyard to scout seats lately...

They were rare in the 80s, I have not seen a 90s Ranger with one, but the Explorers had them and they were rather common. Shouldn't take much to swap an Explorer seat in and make it work, probably just a matter of running 4 wires, max.

I didn't say they didn't exist. I said I have not seen one personally. Given the amount of time that I have spent looking at any RBV I can find in the junk yards I assume the 90s ones are fairly rare. But as I said, the Explorers seems to have them almost standard.

He is gonna have to wire it up anyway if he gets the power-adjust. I know some were manual adjustment from a knob on the side of the seat.

When I got my truck it had tilt steering and cruise control also...and it was from the original owner (one other owner, her nephew who I bought it from). The original owner had to order the seats and other options and I've seen the same seats in other Rangers and BIIs without the power options.

Explorers would be a better bet to find these types of seats though because they tended to be an "upgrade" in terms of luxury options over Rangers.

There is a clip under my seat for the power lumbar and I'm pretty sure it's just two wires...check your fuse panel listing in the owners manual...there is probably a listing for a CB for power seats...maybe the lumbar pump is on a different fuse though because the lumbar pump is pretty small and shouldn't need a 30 amp CB.

was not trying to insinuate that you had said that they didn't exist just posting the information.. also i hit quote button because the reply button would not work on my kindle for some reason

Ah. Fun times.

Got mine from an 01 explorer, later got some seats from an late 90's early 00's from an eddie baurer edition. It has the lumbar and lower thigh extensions. Put the seats from the 01 on the electric rails as thats all I wanted the baurer seats for. Wife complained the mechanical seat was too high for her. Anyhow can find the seats at salvage yards for about $100 if really want them it seems or until the explorers are all crushed.

Lumbar Seats

I was in the market for a Ranger with Lumbar Seats as well. I had a 1995 with them-and traded it off for a newer 1999 (not with them) , but was involved in an accident 2 weeks after trading, and regret trading the 1995 in. From my research-1993-1997 have those style of buckets. I know there are buckets in 1998 and up, but I never could find the ones that looked like the 1993-1997 (Looks like Mustang or TurboCoupe). Now, 1993-1994 have a certain design, and 1995-1997 have a certain design. Both year ranges have the power Lumbar/Bolster. I have recently purchased a 1993 (95k) ex cab STX with them.
