Got a question for those that have been running a doubler (Todd, Evan, 4x4Junkie)

I have been thinking about putting my doubler back together and reinstalling it in the B2. But i was curious if anybody else has had a problem with stretching the chain in the T-case. I had no problems with my tcase, the i ran the doubler for a few trips. And every since my tcase has made quite a bit of noise while coasting in 4-lo. I assume its the chain stretched slapping in the case. I am taking it apart and replacing it later this weekend.

All is fine here too.
I don't see how the doubler would affect chain wear or stretch, you probably have a different issue with it (lubrication issue, or maybe something occurred while you were installing it)

my thought was the doubler forceing the tires to spin from the gear reduction where a normal situation would have stalled the engine. Therefore the added stress to the chain. I don't know i hope to have the case out this weekend and torn apart for a look inside

I didn't think of that. Good point. But I don't think the doubler adds much more force to the chain as when you're mashing on the skinny pedal in a higher gear and the wheels suddenly grab. The nice thing about a doubler is that it's a very consistent amount of force with not a lot of impulse.

Like I said, I have not had any problems, although I am loosing my authority after having not wheeled for over a year.

The tires will slip (or you'll break an axleshaft) before the chain stretches.

Chain problems on these things are very rare (at least on the '97 & down cases). A look inside is probably what's needed.

yeah its out of the truck...i bought it from a junkyard so for all i know it could have 400,000 miles on it. It'll get torn down at work monday

Ya mine is fine.

I have about 10-12 trips on my d.d doubler and no problems so far.... I have taken out one dana 44 u joint and then this past weekend ripped the straps off the dana 44 yoke.

chain was wasted, had several drag marks on the case from the chain slapping it

Must have been driven by one of those people who like to tamper with the perfection of a stock vehicle by making a bunch of mods, and then end up paying the price.
