Need help with mustang wheels

hi, i have a 2000 Ranger xcab 3.0 auto 2wd and i just recently (2 days ago) bought some 17 inch wheels from an 09 mustang.

they are the 5 star (looks similiar to the bullitt) silver with polished lip and 3 spoke spinners on them .

my question is will they even fit? i thought they were a direct fit but after looking on line i see i may need spacers. can someone shed some light on this for me? will i need them front and rear? thanks!!

You can try to mount them and see. The spacing is wrong for a Ranger of course. Spacers are not the best way to go, but you have a 2wd and no hubs to worry about. I know a few people who wanted to run mustang wheels but did not after they thought the wheels did not fit right with 31 or 32 inch tires on their lifted 2wd Rangers. They said the tires were rubbing on suspension components. I never saw them being used so I can't say what they looked like. So it is up to you to try it since you already bought the wheels. The best bet it to take them to a tire shop and have them look at the wheels for you and see what you might need...just to be real safe, I would do that. I only buy wheels for what I have an never have tried to mount any wheels that were not made for my rides.

thanks for the reply. i guess i could see the 4wd hib being an issue, but it still threw me for a loop lol.

normally i wouldnt be switching wheels out like this, but with this project i was going for a certain look and the wheels fit the idea i had to a T. plus the price was right... yada yada lol im sure you know the rest

The mounting surface is too close to the spokes, the brake caliper doesn't clear the back of the wheel. Also the hub center won't fit around any ranger hub, 4x4 or 4x2.

so, does that mean they wont fit even when using the 1.25 wheel spacers?

well, i just got bored and gave it a shot. everything went on fine... but like every one said the offset is too much. im just concerned that a 1.25 wheel spacer is too much. i only say that because i have never used one, or any for that matter.

I know the 99-04 bullitts worked on my truck (87 2wd Ranger, just needed wheel spacers for the front, and remove the dust caps on the rotors so the center caps would fit), but the 05-up bullitts have a much more positive offset, requiring the use of a larger spacer..... I'm pretty sure a 1" bolt on spacer would work OK, but ask around a few reputable wheel shops and see what they say, or just ask a bunch of the guys on here that have done it!!!

I am using a 1.75" spacer on the rear to get my wheels to sit flush(they are aftermarket, but in mustang offsets). They do work however without them rubbing without the spacers. Im not too fond of spacers, but I couldnt stand the look of the wheels tucked in so far. One day Ill get set of wheels with custom offsets to fit my ranger exactly the way I want, but this works for now. Ill can post a pic if you want, I bought mine from Eibach if that helps.
