1 ton sas soon, need advice.

This is how i did my front spring hangers. 86 ranger with a 92 dana 60. ordered the rear spring hanger from 4wd factory. they will build it based off what you want. was a little costly though $260. all out of 3/8 and comes with shackles to

I would link it with air shocks (Thats what I'm doing), air shocks are tuneable and adjustable, two things you will like, Jon. By linking it, all you have to do is cut a 1/4 plate from a cardboard template (easy enough for you, since you have that nice plasma cutter :icon_thumby:) matching the contours of the diff around the leaf spring mount, and another just inside the inner C around the tube...

its still pretty up in the air, a few people i want to talk with first on some opinions and idea's

keep it coming

I hope to have mine mounted and at ride height in two weeks, I can shoot you some pics of the setup if ya want...

those look pretty nice, were your spring pads 37.5 on center like the newer 60's?

Trim back the cast on the drivers side so you have room for a link/shock mount.

And then use these...

that doesnt look bad at all really, are you going to weld the tube back into the housing?

Oh that isn't mine...it's from a thread I came across on Pirate researching stuff for my swap. My 94 housing has about 3" of tube on the short side as you can see here

You could very well weld the tubes to the center section, but there are already a shit ton of plug welds on the 60's already.

well i was reading cheepthrillb2's thread and he spun his long side tube in his 60 so ive been thinking about welding the tubes while its laying in the floor and its easy to do.

probably going to go ahead and do a small truss while im at it just for fun.

do it...

and custom long arms and air shocks to.. i think i've said this before.. hmmm..

i said it on your thread but im still saying leaves. i know its tempting to go all trick and be fancy like everyone else.

-but like you said you dont need all that. leaves will be more then enough for you.
-its cheap/fast
- you can get leaves to flex pretty damn good still
- its CHEAP! lol and you have another kid comming do you not?
- the less down time you have the more motivation you have to finish it and get on to the trail. not one of these builds that gets started and 5 years later its still not on the trail. (toreador lol)

all i'm saying is pick one plan now-- and make it happen. don't change your mind mid build and then end up w/ all the stuff for leafs and realize that's not what you want...

im starting to lean more towards the leaves for reasons already said. will be good enough for now. and you all know me all to well to leave anything alone for very long.

x2, you want it to end up in the corner next to the SVO.

Cutting the casting is what I'm doing so I can run my radius arms. Just weld on the wedges and bolt it back up.
