Hi,
looking at Rockauto online parts catalog, it says the 1974 2.8L heads have the heat smog passages blocked, and the ´70s 2.8 heads has different casting numbers than the ´80s ones.
I would like to know if the 1974 head does not have any of the small "smog ports" below the exhaust ports.
Other than that, have this earlier heads any other advantages than the Ranger ones?
I read some numbers and it looks the ´70s 2.8L has a bit less factory performance compared with the 115 hp of the Ranger engine, but maybe this is due to the "modern" EEC-IV ignition set up of the latest ¿???
Thanks
