Ya got it right there Will, looks pretty good though. I'd rock that one, just drop in the 4bta cummins I picked up this afternoon, my d44 and a new leather interior and I'd drive the thing everyday!

it would be neat to do a dually kit on a gen 1 diesel, split the pipe after the manifold and put stacks up through the box, maybe even a 5th wheel plate between the wheelwells. the best local dually conversion i saw had the fenders but no duals, just real wide singles.

I dunno. If it had a full floater rear axle, maybe I would sport it--I'd have to build a little gooseneck trailer that it could haul around as well. Right now it's just a wanna-be.

I was passing the pancake house and saw a longbed first-gen Ranger with running boards on it. It was completely stock, nothing special. And it had a pair of chrome stacks on it about 3' higher than the cab. I was ashamed, honestly. I mean i have to drive an RBV and to see such a gay-blade setup--I didn't want to be associated with it.

But do it right, give it a real purpose, yeah I can see it. But if you have the duallies, you have to be able to talk the talk when the rubber meets the road. And that 2,750# rear axle ain't cutting it. One single 235/85-16 off any 3/4 pickup has more load carrying ability than the back axle of any Ranger.

It doesn't say what powers it from the factory.
I know my 2.9L wouldn't turn all that wheel, not fast anyway!

i though it was kind of neat looking. i think it would be fine with a 2.9 with 4.10 gears. i have an 88 2.9 a4ld 4x4 with 4.10 gears and it will spin the 31x10.50 tires if i want it to.

Then mine needs some serious work I didn't know I needed.
I've got stock tires with a 5 speed, I couldn't spin the tires if the roads were wet!

The Ranger dually is not factory. J.C. Whitney has had a kit and fenders for it for years.

its a local favorite for the vineyard trucks that mexicans drive around here.there are a few with flat beds around here.now that i think about it,one of them was up on jack stands with the 8.8's cover off and the axles out last time i saw it.must be that huge rear end.i worked with a mexican named alfredo once who spends winter in mexico harvesting limes and avocadoes and driving a ton or two to market in his mighty b2000:eek:.it must be kind of a trend since i heard they make deisel 1 ton rangers for south america(i wish i could get my hands on one).

Kinda weird. In the Ford EPC (electronic parts catalog) There is no dually flares shown for the Ranger. Although that year shows what appears to be a dually wheel. Large center opening with 10 lug holes. Strange.
