By wires i think you mean the coax cable which you can easily find at any truck stop or radioshack
now im not to sure about hooking it up to a radio other than a cb radio but i doubt it would work

It will work, adapters are also sold at truck stops, but personally I wouldnt use it on a radio or anything other than a CB. I would also take your cb to a mom and pops electronics shop and have it tweaked. Get a good powermike and go to flea markets and swap meets where you can find cb amplifiers for rediculous cheap. I found two setups in florida for 20 bux each. Or join a hunt lcub, they can help you find all the good stuff too.

As stated COAX is needed, maybe an Antenna Mount.
CBs are quick and easy but there are a few things that need to be done.

First off, the antenna is the most important part of a CB system, it can make or break it, hopefully the one you have is good.
Next is good quality coax, buy only Belden coax, should be available at most Truck Stops; RG-58U is good, RG-8X is better.
(DO NOT BUY COAX AT RAT SHAQ)
Now what type of mount will you be using, do you need a Stud Mount ?
After that just hook up the red and blk wires directly to the battery, putting a fuse close to the battery end, mount the antenna, run the coax and make sure to get the antenna tuned for low SWR (standing wave ratio), a must do.

Good Luck,
