Panasonic + Pioneer = the best plasma's

Sharp + Sony = the best LCD's

I had a 42" LG plasma for about 9 months, then it developed a pink line down the screen. Took 4 months to get the warranty settled, ended up just getting my money back from them.

I then purchased a 46" Sony Bravia LCD. I couldn't be happier with my new TV.

My parents have a sony which is a great tv. I bought an Insignia from bestbuy pretty cheep and added the protection plan. In my opinion the Insignia's picture is almost as good as the Sony's but cost a lot less.

I got a samsung 32". It has a good picture. I was looking at that one and a 32" sony bravia. Also when you look for one its better to look at the displays and see which one you prefer.

Samsung is at the top end of things right now. For more inexpensive models, brands like Vizio have come a LONG way and make excellent panels now (and IIRC they source the panel itself from one of the other major name brands). Westinghouse is one I would absolutely stay away from. I've had mine for a year and their product support is marginal at best. Major firmware issues that have never been resolved (and their current firmware release is actually far worse than previous ones).

Keep an eye on Slickdeals.net for great deals. It's a forum where users post deals they find. Often you can find some fantastic bargains posted on the front page. Right now I see a 46" Toshiba for $850 and a 46" Panasonic with Bluray player for $950.

Exactly.

I personally like the plasma's in larger than 40" screens. I like the LCD's in anything smaller than 40".

My Panasonic Plasma is absolutely awesome! I got it from Best Buy.

I got a 32" RCA at Hell-Mart for $375+tax. Beautiful picture. The Samsung was a tiny bit better picture, but about $70 higher.

I bought a Vizio in January and I love it. My buddy bought one as well and he raves about it constantly. 3 months ago my parents bought a Sony Bravia and the pic quality is terrible next to my Vizio. We have tweaked and tried different means of video input and it still sucks compared to my Vizio. And I bought mine while Sams club had them on sale so I managed to get my 32" LCD for $380 :headbang: . Right now they are going about $450 at Wally world and honestly I would pay that in a heartbeat. Good luck.
