I've got a 96 B3000 with manual transmission.
I plan on towing a 6x10 enclosed Pace trailer that is single axle and no brakes. It has a weight of roughly 950 lbs.
I've loaded the trailer with roughly 1,000 lbs of items.
I currently used the ball attached to my bumper to haul the stuff around town briefly to try out the brakes and turning and power and such.
I dont feel much added strain to the vehicle towing the trailer with the weight of the items opposed to an empty trailer. I mainly feel the wind drag of the large object in tow.
My destination is roughly 1200 miles from south Florida to Northern Ohio. There will be some mountainous regions to travel through as well.
Is my truck suitable to tow the load on the bumper?
What should I be checking to make sure I'm making this trip safe?
Was my vehicle made to do this?
