heh, I just bought a stock solid rubber replacement mount for mine tonight... after I blew the stock passenger side mount (reverse low range was the culprit), I decided to swap in a solid on the drivers side while the engine was out for the swap...

the same mount was used on F250's, you'd think it could hold up to a 2.3... I guess time isn't kind to them, along with the vertical vibration of inline engines

what do you mean by motor plate?

it you are talking about one of those timing cover/motor plates that you see on big power all out race motors, dont bother. the 2.3 doesnt lend itself to a motor plate and it's completely un-necessary.

my motor makes big power, and the chain method works very well. i would also assume the f-250 mounts are suffficient as well.

What year of F250 mounts and what engine? My motor will be coming out and a little extra insurance sounds like a good idea to me.

no, I was saying they used the same hydraulic mount they used on these 2.3 rangers as they did in bigger trucks, look it up on partsamerica.com and look at the other vehicles it's used on... '89-92 bronco, '89-93 F150, '89-93 F250, '89-93 F350...

back before I had power steering I stuck a ratchet strap from the lifting eye on the front drivers side of the engine to the framerail to restrain it, and the plan is to do the same or something similar when I put this engine in...
