Anybody use this Grille guard before????

I found this grille guard on jcwhitney's site, and wondering if anybody has ever put one on their truck (more specifically, a mazda b-series).

The provided picture is probably generic, but similar. Looks good enough for me.
Im looking for a grille guard I can weld some light guards onto later down the road.

This one looks like it bolts to the frame underneath?

Any info/pictures is appreciated, thanks

Looks like prettymuch the generic push bar. Ask Boggin, I think he has one.

Yea but boggins got an older ranger, the front bumper changed a bit.

Hell, for a hundred more he could probably find something like yours that will do the same thing. They don't really protect well..

I figure if nothing else it will save the radiator in a deer impact, plus they look cool. Build something you can knock down concrete block walls with and you are just asking for frame damage if you do have a real wreck... bumpers (aside from a first gen) are designed to crush and absorb the impact.

I made mine out of some scrap I had laying around:

For a later curvier truck, I think the Westen Sportsman style looks a lot better. The plain up and down style like mine and the one you show compliments the squareness of older trucks, and kind of clashes with the curvyness of newer ones. I have seen the up and down version on newer trucks, and they look roughly like the style you show so they do make them for your style of truck.

Here is my Sportsman on my F-150 (I got it on criegslist for $75) I would recommend something like this for your '96. Pretty beefy and they at least look good.

Exactly, I paid $250 for mine... I rolled into a tree and it bent up the fender just behind the light, plus a ditch bent up one of the brackets.

I had one on mine till I swapped in the '04 grill.
that thing was acually very tough, I used it numerous times to push other trucks, and was even pulled out of the mud by it once. I did have to weld on new bracket to fit my Daylighters on it though.

made this one, me and my bro, simple but strong
this bitch is pretty tough, I hit several thing purposly and never done anything to it, the only mark on it is Bird Shit, lol, I've hit Log piles, my pops old scrapped school bus (mine and Muddin's cabin) and noever done anything to it, just put 2 dents in the steel from the pointy edges, :stirthepot:

I do. I have seen it a hundred times.

Either way. These generic grille gaurds off nearly zero protection. I have seen way too many of these at our collision shop and they may actually cause more damage than they stop. They have a tendency to transfer damage to the other side of the truck in reference to an impact point making you have to fix both sides. They don't seem to help prevent damage on the side of the hit either.

If you order one make sure you have a friend to help carry it. And perhaps look into beefing up the front springs.

are there any of those ARB bumpers that will fit on a 93 ranger?

if your going for looks i guess that would be ok...but know that when you go to weld the light brackets on you have to account for distortion or use a sledge...i bought a Ranch Hand brush guard...in my opinion the best on the market
