That is interesting to say the least. Was it fiberglass? It looks fiberglass to me.

These things were pretty popular in the early 80's. Didn't see too many rangers but tons of Toyotas and Datsuns. Fiberglass and you had to cut your cab and bed out by almost 2 ft,(check the gas filler door location). Pretty cheezy. I think Arrow Manu. in Minn. made this stuff along with dual rear wheel kits for mini pickups, (as they were called in the day).

Why would someone spend the money and/or time to do something like that? Is it kinda like the 2wd to 4wd conversions but for cab length or what?

Hey I did a 2wd to 4wd conversion! I already had the parts though. I had a collection of bronco II's lol. Then I upgraded to 1/2 ton and a 302. Now that was expensive!

Hell, I'd roll in it. New paint, mild lift, maybe a 4.0 - thing would be a pretty cool cruiser.

I have mostly seen those on toyotas.... that truck would have to be a pre 86 being that was the first year for the kingcab ranger...looks like it was a shortbed and they cut out the back of the cab and stretched the frame.....wouldnt make sence to make one of those after the kingcab rangers came out

Unless you wanted to ditch the jumpseats for a bench seat.

It looks too long for a factory frame though. I don't think the box has been shortened either. I doubt they would have gone through the trouble of putting in stake pockets if they did.

Is this something like a Shrerrod conversion? How many people could actually shorten the bed like that? You would have to have some good fab skills:icon_welder: to do that!!
