I have been trying to find some tires to replace my, worn out Cooper Discoverer 31X10.5x15. I saw a tire I liked by for a decent price however they did not make the imperial size I need or the metric size listed on my door post sticker(lt265/75/R15). The trouble seems to be finding tires this size for a 15 inch rim. Any ideas on where to find some cheaper tires, or what used 16 in rims would fit on a 1994 Ranger XLT 4X4 4.0L, with Warn manual hubs on the front? I would be interested in picking up a set of bigger rims only to take advantage of some of the tire sales I've been drooling over but can't enjoy because no one makes my size of tire, in the cheaper brands.

Thanks for your time
Chris

Any Ranger rim with clearance for your hubs should work fine.

31's are a very common size, usually you see them all over. Is it a new model of tire? Lately they come out with the big rubber band tires first and then work their way down in rim sizes. 265/75-15 is a odd one though, you don't see them very often.

265/75R15 is the same thing as 31x10.50R15 (it was an optional size throughout the '93-'97 years, possibly as late as '00).

Why not just buy the tires marked as 31x10.50R15? :icon_confused:

+1 it literally is almost exactly the same and a very common size. like has been said a 265 75 15 wont be easy to find, IMO stick with 31s there is no difference. i work at discount tire and we carry some pretty decent 31s for good prices, check out the pathfinder all terrains if you want an all terrain, it would probably be around $600 for 4

Chris, check out http://www.wheelsnext.com

Their prices include shipping TO CANADA.

I just ordered 4, 16" street tires for my 2wd Ranger for $320. Nexen branded tires.
Fed Ex brokerage plus Canadian duty should add about 60 bucks to that, so I'm told.

They offer Yoko Geolandars in a 265-75-15 for $133 each:

Toyo Open country A/T's (same size) for $122 each:
http://www.wheelsnext.com/tires/TOYO-OPEN%20COUNTRY%20A|T.html

And too many for me to list in a 31/10.50-15:

What I did notice was that the inch sized tires run more money than the metric ones, even in the exact same tire!

BTW, a 265/75-15 will run 30.6 inches tall, so only about 1.3% difference. I'd go with the metrics, for the cost.

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
i know 4wps in cleveland is having a march sale...chubby can do some good deals right now, maybe worth a call...the procomps are made by cooper...

i tried the at's and really like them, you can look em up. theres alot of places selling coopers these days, so its hard to find the best deals. i think tire rack has em on sale too... i know sean(chubby) and he is easy to deal with and good service when problems pop up..dont know how canadian shipping works though.

once i found out procomp was a cooper it was alot easier for me to try them, i had seen posted issues when first brought out, just not any since. desert rat has good specials too on occasion, but the canada shipping thing may be a cost issue as well..

I got a seemingly good deal set up for four TOYO Open Country A/T's. 660$ out the door in 31x10.5R15 LT. Anyone have these tires or heard any good or bad about them? I like the look although the tread is a little less aggressive than some of the others, I think my ears will thank me in the end...

the toyos are awsome tires, i think you would be very happy with them, sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
