Ok, so I have been searching online and around Lexington for a place to buy metal at a good price. I checked Metal Supermarket and they are way too pricey for me, so I have been looking elsewhere... I'm mainly concerned with cost of tube. I'm looking at 3 different metals..

1) schedule 40 pipe 1.66 OD .140 wall
2) HREW 1 3/4" OD .120 wall
3) DOM 1 3/4" OD .120 wall

So far, the cheapest I've found is 45.00 a stick for sch40 pipe, 87.50 for a stick of DOM, and 70.00 for HREW

Any help is appreciated!

Not sure if there are any scrap steel places around here KY but I used to make trips to Columbus. There were several scrap steel / metal yards up there.
They buy up stuff factorys and such are selling. I was looking for aluminum sheets to make up a can for my fuel cell and a couple other things. They had racks of aluminum tubing sheets etc. Lots of it was in pallets still boxed up in Ryerson cartons. This place just stocked aluminum. A 4 x 8 seet of 16GA cost was 40.00.
Some weld shops have stock they sell for a good price if they keep what your looking in stock.
