Did you unplug the switch at all while playing in the dash?

Pull it back apart and make sure it is plugged in all the way.

You didn't mess with the 4wd module did you? I think some people think those things are amplifiers or something. They're behind the rear panels on the drivers side.

No but i did cut the wires to the old radio and spliced the connections into the new radio is the module tied into the radio i checked all the connections and everything is hooked up and in the right place maybe its just a coincidence the 4x4 went out when i replaced the radio is there anything else that could cause this and things i could check

Did you cut the factory connector off or use an adapter harness for aftermarket head units? It seems as though you might have damaged the wiring to that 4x4 switch, either by cutting something by accident or pulling and pushing the harness in and out of the dash. I know my harness is kind of a pain with head unit clearance when installed so I had to kind of shove the harness deeper into the dash to get it all to fit while installed without having a ton of pressure on the back of the radio. It even popped out of the dash board while driving once!
