They will just move your sensors to the new wheels. Ford uses band sensors so its very easy. They are held on to the wheel with a huge hose clamp.

unless you go up or down a wheel size, then you'll need to order new bands for your new wheel size.

sure you can. unscrew the band, use a knife to cut through the double sided tape behind the sensor mount, scrape whatever is left of the old tape off the back of the mount, apply new tape then apply to the new wheel.

I just went through this with my 08. Once I found out that if the tire company or whoever was messing with the sensors, broke one, it is not covered on warranty, I decided not to touch the sensors. And yes they are pricey.

I took the factory wheels off the truck (with sensors) and put on a set of inexpensive chrome wheels and winter tires for the winter.

No one at the Ford dealership seemed to know how the TPMS would react. Well to make a long story short, the TPMS warning light comes and goes with ignition cycles. In my case, about every 2 weeks my warning light comes on for 2-3 days (blinks a few times at start up, then stays on).It then shuts off for about 2 weeks. My guess is the ignition cycles clear the warning after so many starts.

Hope this helps.

yep you will need new bands if going to a diff. size wheel. not sure if you can reuse the bands for the same size. just make sure your tire shop swaps the sensors.

you can re-use bands, but you need foam backed double sided tape on hand (used on the back side of the sensor mounts to keep it from sliding around)

The factory bands are not a hose clamp style, they are like a CV clamp and are not reusable, at the worst you will have to buy 4 new bands which WILL be like a big hose clamp.

thats true, but the big hose clamp style ones have barely any threads on them....which means they really only fit the size of rim they are designed to fit (dont ask me why ford did this).
