Need help with Duraspark!

HLLO EVERYONE,
I am new to this forum so please excuse the many questions im sure i will have.
First one is: How can tell if i have a Duraspark Ignition? I bought my 84 Ranger a while ago but just recently started workin on it. I also need to know if anyone has a Holley 2barrel for sale because it turns out my stock carburetor is broken beyond repair... perfect chance to get a holley!

The dura-spark conversion bypasses all the emissions stuff. It uses a dizzy with a three prong connection. The connection leads directly to a 5"x4"X2" box with 6 wires; 2 from the wire bundle coming through the fire wall, 3 from the dizzy and 1 from the coil. In most cases the stock TFI coil is replaced with a cylinder coil. The dizzy usually has a vacuum advance connected to the carb. If you have a stock carb you probably don't have the dura-spark conversion cause I hear id does not run great with the stock carb, not to say it won't run okey with the stock carb. Holley 0-7448 (thats the carb you want) are pretty cheap on ebay. In my opinion remove all emmissions, except the cat, and do the durasaprk conversion you will not regret it!

Check your local smog rules first; some places require all stock!

Hey thanks for the info, I will definitely take a look at that. Does $235.00 sound like a good price for the 2 barrel? thats the cheapest i can get one so far.

i hope the smog part doesnt cause too many issues. Also what tire size do you think the stock 2.8 can push. all the truck has is a 3" body lift i think.

summit racing has holley 350 2barrel brand new in box all day long,but around here they want $275.check tech library for all the info you need as well as the 2.8 threads.
