So, I get a call from my insurance agent this morning. She asked me if I mind that she would look around to try to get a different quote from another one of the companies they use (they have several, for example, my mom and dad use the same agent, they have a different company than I do) so I said sure, why not, right? Well she just called back, and I got freakin awesome news. I currently pay about $310 a month for my DD, a 2001 Focus sedan. Since the car isn't paid for yet, I need to have full coverage on it. I'm also on a 6 month cycle, every 6 months the policy renews. So, since I got married in june, turns out, she can score me a better rate with a different one of their companies. On a 6 month term, I'd only pay about $210 a month, or on a 1 year term, about $190 a month.....SWEET! that's awesome for many reasons:

1-lowest rate I've EVER had...
2-an extra $120 a month to play with
3-When I finally get my BII road-worthy, I can put the minimum coverage needed on it, and still probably pay less than what I pay now
4-hell...it's just sweet news!

now my bud will be pissed, he pays more for his ZJ, and he's the same age as me, 21....lol...

SCORE!!!!

Man I thought my insurance was high. I pay $1,304 every six months or $1,134 if I pay it in full instead of monthly. That's either $217 or $189 a month. It's for full coverage on the F-150 and liability on the 96 Ranger. Mine is high because I wrecked a motorcycle in January 05 and then totalled my F-150 in April of 05. I have two fail to controls and a reckless op on my record. I went over 15 years without a ticket or accident and then it all went to crap in a 4 month stretch. I think it's stupid that some insurance company's even charge you based on credit score.

Anyways, I pay again in October and then by the next renewal my motorcycle crash will be off so my rate should come down a little, and the next time after that my reckless will be off, so I should be able to shop around for an even better rate.

Wow, I guess I should be glad that the insurance and registration is controlled by the provincial government in Saskatchewan. I used to pay ~$64 a month for insurance and plates, but that went down to somewhere in the low $50's as of a few months ago. Funny part is that I don't have a very good driving record...

Wow, I'm getting off really cheap!

I insure my 1990 ranger and 1992 explorer with basic coverage. I am 21, single, with a perfect driving record. I pay $700 a year total for both vehicles. That's $58.33 a month. It will be even less when I get married.

Damn I'd hate to pay what you guys are. I'm paying under $1300 a year for full coverage on a '03 Ranger and basic on a '91 Ranger, '93 Escort and a motorcycle. The '03 is costing $750 of that, so $550 a year for 3 vehicles.

yea, all you guys and your cheap insurance...I forgot too add, I've got a clean record, no accidents, only one ticket (driving on a closed highway, gay, but that's another story) but it would be off my record now (happened June 04, it only stays on for 3 years), and I don't have a full G class licence either, I've actually got an ACZ....

oh well, what are ya gonna do...

Wow I never thought it would be good to be middle age, but my insurance just went up when I got the Mustang.
Now I pay right about 105 a month full coverage, which is up from the 90 a month I used to pay on the Ranger.:yahoo:
And to the OP, check if getting comprehensive on your BII, gets you multiple car discount.
You might end up paying less to insure both, worked that way for me till I got rid of my truck in storage.

I appreciate you guys making me feel good about my rates. Here I thought I was taking it bent-over. Two Fords, two Bimmers, $1600 for the year with the maximum coverage allowed by law in PA.

However I do remember paying $2400 for the year just on a 240sx with minimum coverage when I lived in NoVA and was 22-25. NoVA had this "bribe" policy where you pay a $400 fee per year so you could be uninsured. I used that one year and some drunk plowed right into the back of my 240sx while I was parked on the street. I was actually parked along a yellow line, which would have fawked me good, but by the time the drunk was done plowing, I was legally parked! That was a good car.

I see insurance is pricey for some. I pay 1500 a year for full coverage (in an urban area, Buffalo, ny) on a 2004 Ranger, 2006 Nissan Altima and a 2004 Suzuki Bandit 1200 Streetfighter.
