Is anyone else as excited as me about hunting season this year. Probably not due to the fact that I have not been hunting in the better part of a DECADE! I bought a bow over the winter, Bear manufacturer, I cannot remember the model for the life of me but it was only a year old when I got it.

Things I need for it:

Drop Away Arrow Rest
4 Pin Optical Site
Quiver
Have it set to my draw length
Peep sight put in

here you go for hunting season

Father & son went hunting together for the first time. The father said "Stay here and be VERY QUIET. I'll be across the field."A few minutes later the father heard a blood curdling scream & ran back to his son asking "What's wrong? I told you to be quiet."The son answered "Look, I was quiet when the snake slithered across my feet. I was quiet when the bear breathed down my neck. But when the 2 chipmunks crawled up my pant legs & said 'Should we eat them here or take them with us?' I panicked!

i hunt down in the middle nowhere. private land. it's straight woods for miles. plenty to shoot out there, pigs, deer, squirrels, fox and occasionally a black bear. i've never seen one, but my uncle has. you can find their shit all over the place.

the pigs are getting to be a problem down east, same as the deer. they're everywhere. you can only shoot 10 or so deer a season. but you can shoot 2 hogs a day (i think, maybe just 1) you can donate the meat to some place that feeds the homeless too, which i may try to do this year.

they just started letting people use crossbows here. i think year before last. they are expensive though. i want one from the $250-$350 range.

i can't wait... i got my savage 110 30-06 sights checked today, and cleaned up real good. lets get this started!

i don't archery hunt b/c the only time i did i saw 2 huge bucks about 200 yards out-- they wouldn't get any closer. i was mad, i was thinking the entire time- my savage will reach out that far NOOOOOO problem...

I'm almost ready just have to go check my tree stand. I heard that here in Indiana we have to kill a for before a buck now but yet deer are over populated. Didn't now hunt last year, didn't have time or money due to I was in the middle of my SAS but got it done in time for gun season.

that's what i'm worried about. the smallest field we have a tree stand in is 273 yards long.

Whoot - dove season started 3 days ago. I love to work my dogs over them less than I like to hunt them. My yougest one has only had her mouth on one dove that flew into a window of our house.

I sold my bow last year when my car broke down, looks like I better start saving for a new one! Plus I want to get a rifle. My Mossy is nice and all, but I can only shoot so far with the 12 gauge.
