I just got this truck and dont know what it is. All i know is that its a 1993 4x4 with a 4.0 and it has gvwr of 5040 and originally had 265/75/15's on it (from the door sticker) i assume its some kind of special edition or package because of the paint job.

My credo
I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
Its a Ranger. That was an easy one. :icon_rofl:

It looks like a dealer add-on. Is it painted or is it a sticker?

I remember a lot of trucks, not just Fords, that came with those tacky decals on them about 15 years ago. I don't know if they were dealer added or factory added, but it didn't make them anything special. I remember my dad saying how he hated that all the new trucks had them. I was only about 6 or 7 years old at the time and I thought they looked cool. :icon_twisted: Then I grew up and so did my tastes (thank God).

it's a ranger with the 4x4 Off-Road Package (265/75R15's and a L/S rear) nothin too special , i had one like it minus the tacky graphics , mine was a 96 4.0 5-speed

yep that one is just a 4x4 with a factory off road package. I have one just like it but mine is white, and while not a "special edition" it is not overly common, just like today we have the FX4's, and see them almost everywhere our rangers are just built for running off road. It was not a dealer installed option, but ordered from the factory as it sits. Wheel travel is about 1.5" more in the front then the rangers with 235/75R15's due to a slightly taller coil spring. In the rear they received a set of heavy duty leaf springs.

I wheel mine nearly every weekend, and in stock form it more then keeps up with my friends lifted 99 4runner, and 2007 Tacoma. I have even pulled out a trapped H3 that got in over his head.

Have fun with your truck, and enjoy your tuff truck

That's stealing.

I'll take it for 40.

I would say something nice, but after 10 or so years on here, I can't take another version of Danger Ranger.

Seriously, in my opinion, you've got the best package of Ranger parts ever assembled. There are no special Rangers. Even the ones people think are special are just Rangers. You won't find an aluminum front end and a Dana 60 and dual quads with an interior delete. You won't find the pursuit-certified police Ranger, or the Powerwagon V8 Ranger with Dana 60s and a factory winch. The best you can find is a '91-'97 with a 4.0, manual tranny. manual-shift t-case and a gear 3.55 or above. That's your best possible Ranger. I wish I had one.
