Aluminum ranger pan necessary for swap?

It necessary to use the aluminum ranger pan on a 2.3 for clearance issues? I want to use an oil pan heater during the winter, but there's too much webbing cast onto the outside of the pan to get good heat transfer. One would stick on the turbo coupe pan just fine though.

no, i'm pretty sure you can use the t-bird pan. i think the older 2.3s and 2.0s used the same stamped steel pan.

Yup, my original swap used the 2.3T pan no problems.
