Im changing my axle joints and am doing the inner right as well.so have to pull the dif. I have it to the point where the dif is free and have the sheer or pinch bolt undone but I cant remove it. In order to get this bolt out with out removing the whole front axle what is the the easiest way to go about it. I was starting to undo parts but it does not seem to be getting to the problem and I have no desire to pull the whole front end. Had I known it was going to be this much hassle I would have just left the inner joint as it was not that bad but thought as I was doing the other 2 may as well do them all....simple job turned into nightmare..any help would be great...I did see someone say to grind the bolt head down but I cant see that being the way to go about it..and also see guys saying they can do the whole job in 2 hrs..would sure like to know the secret

Just to be clear....you're talking about the inner u-joint on your passengers side of the front axle? If you had the diff unbolted from the stamped-steel housing and the left (driver's side) axle shaft pulled out, you should have been able to pull the entire assembly out from under the truck and change out the u-joint. Hope this helps!!
