staring problems

the starter wont catch flywheel to start sometimes, and it clicks and ticks and has a humming sound

Sounds like a bad starter to me. First check all your connections (positive and ground) for looseness or corrosion. Make sure you have a good grouind from the batteyr to the doghouse also.
