Default question about my HU power rating

in my owners manual for my pioneer deh-p3900mp reciever it states:

maximum power output
-50wx4
-50wx2/4ohms+70wx1/2ohms(for a subwoofer)

load impedence
-4ohms to 8ohmsx4
-4ohms to 8ohmsx2+2ohmsx1

i just bought a set of Infinity Kappa 60.7cs.

Speaker Size 6 1/2
Design 2-way
Tweeter Design 1" Dome
Tweeter Composition M.M.D.
Woofer Composition Woven-glass-fiber

Specifications
Sensitivity 95 dB
Frequency Response 45 - 25k Hz
RMS Power Range (Watts) 2-90
Peak Power Handling (Watts) 270
Impedance (Ohms) 2

can i run these off of my receiver until i get an amp(1-2 months from now) without damaging the speakers or reciever? i currently have the balance set all the way to the front so no sound is coming out of the rear speakers behind the seat, since i can barely here them anyway. with the balance set all the way to the front, are my rear speakers still drawing power?

Those speakers are 2 ohms, and the receiver is rated for 4 ohms or higher. You risk burning out the "amplifier" in the h/u. Also you are not getting anywhere near 50 watts per channel out of any h/u. Buy the amp right now, or rawk teh stock speakers until you can afford that amp.

yeah thats what conclusion ive come to. im looking at 2 models:
-Rockford Fosgate Power T4004 $180 shipped
-Rockford Fosgate Punch P450.4 $160 shipped

ive heard the build quality on the power is much better. it also runs about $20 more than the punch. im not sure which one to get. can someone please help me decide. i have the speakers already and im dying to install them. i had a side job today, now i have the money to get the amp now. please help.

IIRC power just has better power supply and steeper crossover slope.

Rockfords are made in AZ by tempe himself.
but seriously, either Rockford will push those easy---one is just prettier with better cooling ability. i hope your going to run a sub too, casue those kappas are REAL bright. play those kappas for about 5 minutes on your 3900 then touch the back of the radio. if you burned your hand then your radio is getting too hot from the 2 ohm load. i would probably use that high pass filter that the 3900 has if your not amping them.

the 3900 has selectable sub preouts too. just run the back speaker off the radio, fronts on the amp and bridge a 4ohm sub off the rear channels on the amp.
