Default Throw out bearing replacement

I'm putting a new clutch assembly in my 84 ranger. I've already installed the new pilot bearing, and i went to put the new throw out bearing in it, and the one they supplied in the kit is a lot different from the one that came off.

Im not sure if this pic will show up, but the new one (on the left) is about an inch taller than the old one and if i install it the fork will be about an inch closer to the clutch.
