Default i beam conversion

i wanted to convert my a-arm to i beam, thinking it would be cheap and easy. well after some reserch giant motorsports makes a kit for toyotas for 3000 but its lifted and all kinds of other stuff, not bad.i gave them a call to see how much he might charge for this, and holy smokes, 13k for them to do it,i know it requires cutting out the coil mounts and welding flat steel and welding a gusset for a steering box.but doesnt that seam like a bit of $ overkill? he also sayed not to buy blitzkrieg's motor sports lt race kit because the rack and pinion cant handle it,he said it will not work. now why would he bullshit me when my buddy has that on his ranger and hasnt had a problem yet? do you think he was trying to get me to buy a 97 so i can buy his kit?

Why

There are much better and cheaper ways of getting long travel suspension if that is really what you are going for.

But if you are really, and desperately want to do this I would go to the junk yard cut the front clip off a 97 or older Ranger and just cut and weld it to fit your truck. That is if you wanna do work.

But to makes things simple and easy, sale your truck and buy an 97 or older.

serach around over on Dramarangers and you will find info on the racks and upgrades. if you push the truck hard yes the stock rack will have problems.in strenth and cavation problems.

yea i was thinking about the i beam, but i think i will do a sas with a dana 44 so i can upgrade the brakes too.put a ford 8.8 in the rear with 11in currie brakes. went to a car show last night and they had burnout contests on slick concrete and the cars still needed them to spray water down.man it was sad my ranger did better than most of the cars on the asphalt.my ranger has a 3.0 auto & 33's.
