Does anyone know if the torque converter from a 95 Windstar will work on the transmission form a 98 Ranger? After being told the engines were the same, I bought a 95 Windstar engine only to find out the crankshaft is different and therefore the 98 torque converter will not work.

Absolutely no chance. Windstar has the AX4S crap trans and the Ranger has a 4R44E/5R55E. Completely different animal .
